TEMPLE NOTRE DAME GAME SET FOR PRIMETIME

First, Temple must deal with East Carolina but when they return to Lincoln Financial Field on Halloween to take on Notre Dame, they’ll do so in primetime. The game has been selected as ABC’s Saturday Night Football Game and will kickoff at 8:00 p.m.
The Owls (6-0, 3-0 American) are nationally ranked for the first time since the end of the 1979 season; it will be the first time Temple Football will be televised nationally by the network. The contest will mark the first time that an American Athletic Conference team has been selected as the ABC’s Saturday Football Game and it is the first primetime full national telecast for the conference.
“This is tremendous exposure for our Temple Football program and it is well-deserved recognition for the job Matt Rhule has done with this team,” said Temple University Director of Athletics Dr. Patrick Kraft in a university press release. “We look forward to having the rest of the country see Temple Football play against an elite program like Notre Dame on a national stage.”
While the Owls deal with the Pirates on Thursday night, the Fighting Irish have a bye. Notre Dame is 6-1 overall and has won its last two games. The Fighting Irish’s lone setback came at nationally-ranked Clemson, 24-22, on October 3.
