SOUL LOOK TO HYPNOTIZE THE VOODOO

PHILADELPHIA (June 6, 2015) – The Philadelphia Soul look to keep the winning streak alive this week. The Soul (9-1) will host the New Orleans VooDoo in Week 11 on the Rothman Field at the Wells Fargo Center on Saturday, June 6 at 6 p.m. The game will be broadcast on ESPN3.
The Soul and VooDoo have already faced each other this season in Week 5, with the Soul coming out victorious. This past week the Soul came out triumphant against the Outlaws, with the final score 51-43. Marco Thomas led the Soul receivers with eight catches for 125-yards and tied his career high of five touchdowns and was awarded the J. Lewis Small Playmaker of the Game. Lonnie Outlaw added three catches for 17-yards and two touchdowns. Shaun Kauleinamoku had six receptions for 87-yards, while Ryan McDaniel chipped in with four receptions for 48-yards. Dan Raudabaugh finished the night by completing 21-of-31 passes for 277 yards, seven touchdowns and no interceptions. On the defensive end, James Romain led the team with 5.0 total tackles and was named the Riddell Defensive Player of the Game. Kent Richardson had 4.5 total tackles and one interception. Bryan Robinson added one sack.
The first match-up to look for in the game is Soul DB LaRico Stevenson up against New Orleans WR Chris Duvalt. So far this season, Stevenson has had 46 total tackles, three interceptions for 45-yards, and three pass break ups. In the first game (Week 5) against the VooDoo, he recorded nine total tackles. This season, Duvalt has recorded 60 receptions for 736-yards and 16 touchdowns. In Week 5, he recorded 6 receptions for 89-yards and two touchdowns.
The next match-up to look for is the Soul offensive line—Adam Smith, Shannon Breen, and Neal Tivis—up against the VooDoo’s defensive line. So far this season, the line has worked well together to protect Raudabaugh by allowing only six quarterback sacks. The VooDoo’s defense has a total of 4 sacks for 18-yards.
The final match-up to keep an eye out for is Soul WRs—Marco Thomas, Shaun Kauleinamoku, and Ryan McDaniel—up against the VooDoo’s secondary. Thomas leads the Soul WRs with 86 catches for 1004-yards and 21 touchdowns. Combined the wide receivers have a total of 209 catches for 2550-yards and 54 touchdowns. The VooDoo’s defensive backs have together recorded 128.5 tackles, seven interceptions for 136-yards, 25 pass break ups, three forced fumbles, and one fumble recovery.
The Soul will head down to Orlando to face off against the Predators in Week 12 on Saturday, June 13 at 7:00 p.m. ET at the Amway Center.
