The PIAA playoffs are underway. Will anyone knock off the Prep? The top seed in District 1 AAAAAA is North Penn (10-0) despite being ranked No. 26 in the state by MaxPreps. Coatesville, the No. 2 seed is ranked No. 2 in the state and No. 63 nationally. In AAAA, Pottsgrove is the No. 1 seed. In AAA District 1-12 Conwell Egan is in the No. 1 spot.
District 11-12 Class 2A West Catholic is top seed.
Catholic League Class 6A…Friday’s Semi-finals schedule
No. 4 Roman Catholic vs. No. 1 St. Joseph’s Prep, at Widener, 8 p.m.
No. 3 Father Judge vs. No. 2 La Salle, at Plymouth Whitemarsh, 7 p.m.
Catholic League Class 4A Semi-finals Friday
No. 3 Bonner-Prendergast vs. No. 2 Archbishop Carroll, at Cardinal O’Hara, 7 p.m.

West Deptford came out of what was a mediocre season putting on an offensive explosion and great defensive effort to shut out St. Joe’s Hammonton 51-0 last Saturday. The Eagles moved up to the No. 6 spot as teams play for playoff position.
Williamstown, Highland Regional, Haddonfield and Burlington Township remained unbeaten.

Speaking of playoffs. MaxPreps has Malvern Prep No. 3 in the State of Pennsylvania, Could they be the best? The Friars will not get a chance to prove it, at least at the AAAAA level as Malvern does not take part in the PIAA District or State playoffs.
A Malvern spokesperson today said it is unlikely the Inter-Academic League Malvern plays in will ever change that policy
