James enjoys career day; Williams makes debut
UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa.; Oct. 12, 2016 – A total of 28 Penn State football alumni are populating the active rosters of 20 National Football League teams. The Nittany Lions annually are among the top 20 programs nationally in producing players in the NFL. Each week throughout the year, GoPSUsports.com will provide updates on the exploits of these former Nittany Lion greats.
Top performances from week five were led by Steelers tight end Jesse James, who caught a career-high six passes for 42 yards and a touchdown in a win over the Jets. Penn State men’s lacrosse alum Chris Hogan benefitted from the return of Tom Brady, as he enjoyed a career day with his first 100-yard receiving game. Additionally, Trevor Williams made his NFL debut for the Chargers after being signed from the practice squad during the week.
Adrian Amos (2011-14), FS, Chicago Bears

Amos made a total of four tackles (three solo) and forced a fumble.
NaVorro Bowman (2007-09), LB, San Francisco 49ers
Cardinals 33, 49ers 21
Bowman is out for the season with a torn Achilles.

Carter is on the Vikings’ practice squad.
Jack Crawford (2008-11), DE, Dallas Cowboys
Cowboys 28, Bengals 14
Crawford was in on two tackles, assisting on a sack in the fourth quarter.
Garry Gilliam (2010-12), T, Seattle Seahawks
Bye Week
Gilliam has started all four games this season at tackle for the Seahawks.

Hackenberg was inactive for Week 5.

Hali has 11 tackles and a sack in four games this season.
Chris Hogan (men’s lacrosse 2007-10), WR, New England Patriots

Hogan started for the Patriots and caught four passes for 114 yards, including a 63-yarder. It was his first career 100-yard receiving game.

Hodges made a tackle seeing action on defense and special teams.

James made a career-high six catches for 43 yards and a touchdown. He has a touchdown catch in three of the last four games. James is tied for second the NFL among tight ends with three scores this season.

Jones started and made a tackle for loss on 27 snaps.

Lee posted a team-high 10 tackles for a second consecutive week. His 45 tackles for the season rank 10th in the league.

Mauti has six tackles, a sack and a forced fumble on the season.

Zettel saw action for a third consecutive week for the Lions and batted a Philadelphia fumble between his legs to keep it in bounds. It was recovered by the Lions and setup the game-winning field goal drive.
