The Philadelphia Eagles today announced they have promoted G Julian Vandervelde from the practice squad to the active roster and placed T Todd Herremans on the season-ending Injured Reserve list. The team also re-signed DT Frank Trotter to the practice squad.

Vandervelde (6-2, 300) was signed to the Eagles practice squad on 10/2/12. He was released as part of the team’s final roster cut down on 8/31/12 and spent time with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on their practice squad before rejoining the Eagles. He was originally selected by the Eagles in the fifth round of the 2011 draft and spent his rookie campaign as a reserve offensive lineman and played in one game. A four-year letterman at Iowa, Vandervelde earned second-team All-Big Ten honors as a senior in 2010.

Trotter (6-2, 275) joined the Eagles during training camp and was a member of the Eagles practice squad from 9/2 to 11/6. Originally a rookie free agent signing of Jacksonville in 2012, Trotter concluded his collegiate career at Memphis with 36 starts and ranked third all-time in school history with 36.5 tackles for a loss.
