EAGLES NOTEBOOK: NICK FOLES PUT UP SOME CRAZY NUMBERS IN NFC TITLE GAME

EAGLES CLINCH SUPER BOWL BERTH
· With tonight’s 38-7 victory over Minnesota, Philadelphia has clinched its third conference championship (1980, 2004, 2017) in franchise history and will represent the NFC in Super Bowl LII vs. New England in Minneapolis on Sunday, February 4.

· Philadelphia’s 38 points were the 2nd-most points scored in team postseason history, trailing only a 58-37 win vs. Detroit on 12/30/95.

·The Eagles’ +31 point margin is the highest mark in team postseason history. It is the best margin of victory by an NFL team in the playoffs since Carolina defeated Arizona, 49-15 (+34), on 1/24/16. The last time Philadelphia won by 31-or-more points was on 9/25/16 vs. Pittsburgh (W, 34-3).

HOME, SWEET HOME
· Philadelphia improved to 15-7 (.682) all-time at home in the playoffs, including a 6-3 (.667) mark at Lincoln Financial Field.

· Philadelphia has produced a 15-3 (.833) record at home under head coach Doug Pederson, which is the best home record in the NFL over the last two seasons (including playoffs). The Eagles also own the best home record in the NFL this season at 9-1 (.900).

· Philadelphia has outscored opponents 282-124 (+158) at home this season, allowing just 12.4 points per game.

· The Eagles have allowed 10-or-fewer points in 5 straight home games, which is the longest streak in franchise history. The 2009 Vikings were the last NFL team to hold opponents to 10-or-fewer points in 5 consecutive home games.

FOLES THROWS FOR 352 YARDS, 3 TDs & 0 INTs

· Nick Foles completed 26-of-33 (78.8%) attempts for 352 yards, 3 TDs, 0 INTs and a 141.1 passer rating in tonight’s 38-7 victory over Minnesota. Foles is the only QB in Eagles history to throw for 300+ yards and 3+ TDs in a single postseason game.

· Foles’ 352 passing yards are the 4th-most in Eagles single-game postseason history, trailing only Randall Cunningham on 12/31/88 at Chicago (407) and Donovan McNabb on 1/18/09 at Arizona (375) and 2/6/5 vs. New England (357).

· Foles’ 141.1 passer rating is the 2nd-best figure in Eagles single-game postseason history, behind Rodney Peete on 12/30/95 vs. Detroit (143.3).

· Foles has produced a 100+ passer rating in each of his first 3 career playoff games (longest postseason streak in franchise history). Foles joins Donovan McNabb in 2004 (1/16/05-1/23/05) as the only Eagles QBs to record a 100+ passer rating in back-to-back games in a single postseason.

· With 1:09 remaining in the second quarter, Foles connected with Alshon Jeffery on a 53-yard TD to give the Eagles a 21-7 advantage. The 53-yard TD is tied for the 7th-longest passing TD in Eagles postseason history (longest since a franchise-postseason-record 76-yard TD from Michael Vick to Jeremy Maclin on 1/9/10 at Dallas).

· Foles also threw a 41-yard TD to Torrey Smith to give the Eagles a 31-7 lead in the third quarter. Foles became the second QB in Eagles history to throw multiple 40+ yard TDs in a playoff game, joining Rodney Peete on 12/30/95 vs. Detroit (W, 58-37).

JEFFERY’S MULTI-TOUCHDOWN GAME

· Alshon Jeffery caught TDs of 53 and 5 yards to give the Eagles leads of 21-7 and 38-7, respectively. Jeffery is the fifth Eagle to record multiple receiving TDs in a playoff game, joining Brent Celek (1/18/09 at Arizona), Chad Lewis (1/23/05 vs. Atlanta), Fred Barnett (1/3/93 at New Orleans) and Harold Carmichael (12/23/79 vs. Chicago).

BLOUNT RUSHES FOR 10TH POSTSEASON TOUCHDOWN

· LeGarrette Blount rushed for an 11-yard TD in the second quarter to give the Eagles a 14-7 lead. Blount now has 10 rushing TDs in 10 career postseason games. His 10 rushing TDs in the playoffs are the 7th-most in NFL history, behind Hall of Famers Emmitt Smith (19, 1990-2004), Thurman Thomas (16, 1988-2000), Franco Harris (16, 1972-84), Terrell Davis (12, 1995-2001), John Riggins (12, 1971-85) and Marcus Allen (11, 1982-97).

· Blount is the first Eagle with rushing TDs in back-to-back playoff games since Brian Westbrook during the 2006 playoffs (1/7/07-1/13/07).

ROBINSON RETURNS INTERCEPTION

· Patrick Robinson helped swing the momentum of the game when he intercepted Case Keenum at the 50-yard line in the first quarter and returned the pick for a touchdown to tie the game, 7-7. The Eagles went on to score 38 unanswered points (including the pick-six).

· Robinson’s 50-yard INT-TD is the 7th INT-TD in Eagles playoff history, joining Asante Samuel (44 yards on 1/4/09 at Minnesota), Bobby Taylor (39 yards on 1/11/03 vs. Atlanta), Damon Moore (59 yards on 1/12/02 vs. Tampa Bay), William Thomas (30 yards on 12/30/95 vs. Detroit), Barry Wilburn (24 yards on 12/30/95 vs. Detroit) and Eric Allen (18 yards on 1/3/93 at New Orleans).

· Robinson’s 50-yard INT-TD is the 2nd-longest INT-TD in team postseason history, trailing only Damon Moore’s 59-yard TD on 1/12/02 vs. Tampa Bay.

BARNETT FORCES KEY SACK-FUMBLE

· With Minnesota marching into the red zone down 14-7, Derek Barnett strip-sacked Case Keenum on third-and-5 at the PHI 16 (fumble recovered by Chris Long at the PHI 24). Barnett became the first Eagles rookie to record a strip-sack in a playoff game since Derrick Burgess on 1/27/02 at St. Louis (Kurt Warner). The takeaway helped set up a 76-yard TD drive by Philadelphia.

MORE FROM THE GAME

· Zach Ertz led the Eagles with 93 yards on 8 receptions. His 93 receiving yards are the 3rd-most by a TE in Eagles postseason history, trailing only Keith Jackson on 1/5/91 vs. Washington (116) and 12/31/88 at Chicago (142).

· The Eagles had two different receivers produce 85+ receiving yards (Zach Ertz – 93, Alshon Jeffery – 85) in the same postseason game for just the third time in franchise history, joining Kevin Curtis (122) and DeSean Jackson (92) on 1/18/09 at Arizona and Keith Byars (103) and Keith Jackson (142) on 12/31/88 at Chicago.

· Corey Graham posted his 3rd career playoff INT (2 INTs on 1/12/13 at Denver with Baltimore).

· Jay Ajayi led the Eagles with 99 scrimmage yards (73 rushing, 26 receiving).
