On the Footballstories Radio show the Wednesday before the Soul took on Washington on the road, defensive back James Romain described his team’s defense as the “Straight Jacket defense.”
Romain and his teammates back it up as Philadelphia (2-0) defeated the Valor (1-1), with the final score 49-31 in front of 12,122 fans at the Verizon Center in Washington, D.C. on Saturday night.
The Soul also lost their top O-lineman when John Kling, 6-8, 320 LB O-lineman signed to play for Soul earlier this year, recently signed a free agent contract to play for the Redskins .
The Philadelphia Eagles have acquired DT Timmy Jernigan and a third-round draft pick (99th overall) from the Baltimore Ravens in exchange for the Eagles’ third-round selection (74th overall). This move has Joe Douglas’ signature all over it. Douglas cut his teeth in NFL player personnel with Baltimore.
