WIDENER RUNNING BACK WINS MAC PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Couve LaFate had a career-best 174 yards rushing on 19 carries with two touchdowns in Widener’s 52-20 rout of King’s.  The junior from Wilmington, DE had a 91-yard touchdown run in the first quarter which was Widener’s longest since Billy “White Shoes” Johnson had a 93-yard scamper in 1972.
