WEST CHESTER SCORES BIG WIN OVER MERCYHURST

The West Chester Golden Rams jumped all over Mercyhurst University Saturday afternoon at John A. Farrell Stadium by scoring 21 points in the first 10 minutes of the game. Golden Rams quarterback Sean McCartney threw for three touchdowns and ran another in the 38-14 win. The defense got into the act as well when strong safety Drew Formica returned an interception 39 yards for a score. As a unit, the defense held the Lakers (0-2) to just 255 yards of total offense including only 43 yards on the ground.

STATEMENT REGARDING EAGLES LANE JOHNSON’S FOUR GAME SUSPENSION

Lane Johnson of the Philadelphia Eagles has been suspended without pay for the first four games of the 2014 regular season for violating the NFL policy on performance enhancing substances.
Johnson will be eligible to return to the Eagles’ active roster on Monday, September 29 following the team’s September 28 game against the San Francisco 49ers.
Johnson is eligible to participate in all offseason and preseason practices and games.
