With 6:59 left in the second quarter of the Eagles-Carolina game at the Linc, Panthers quarterback Cam Newton had manged to complete just one pass for five yards. It was the kind of start you want your defense to produce. The Eagles did that and more…at least for the first three quarters jumping out to […]

EAST RUTHERFORD: The NFL is always starved to find great quarterbacks. In recent years, the bright new stars who are established include Eagles Carson Wentz, Rams Jared Goff, Bears Mitchell Trubisky, Texans DeShaun Watson and Cowboys Dak Prescott. The Birds (3-3) pounded the New York Football Giants (1-5) 34-13 in a game that was never seriously in doubt from […]

NASHVILLE: Former Eagles offensive lineman Dennis Kelly was once compared to a “bag of footballs” after he was traded in August 2016 to the Tennessee Titans for wide receiver Dorial Green-Beckham. The long, talented player had been drafted by the Tennessee Titans in the second round of the 2015 NFL Draft following a disappointing career at Missouri where he was dismissed from the team in 2014.
As it turns out, the Titans are the ones who fleeced the Eagles. Green-Beckham was a bust and Kelly just signed a three-year extension with Tennessee. But Kelly will not get his last laugh up close and personal as he has been out for over two weeks with a mysterious illness,. He is expected to recover and rejoin the team at some point this season.

If you just look at the box score, the stats line Carson Wentz ended up with after his first game back since December 10, 2017 was not going to get him many MVP votes. The third-year signal caller was 25 for 37 for 255 yards, one touchdown pass, an interception and five sacks, good for […]
