Nittany Lions sign a pair of five-star recruits
UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa.; February 3, 2016 – Head coach James Franklin unveiled the Top 25 2016 Penn State Football recruiting class today during a Signing Day celebration in the Lasch Building. Penn State’s Class of 2016 is ranked third in the Big Ten Conference by 247Sports and ESPN and from No. 17 to No. 24 nationally, as of Wednesday.
The 2016 Pro Bowl will air live on ESPN at 8 p.m. Sunday
UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa.; January 29, 2016 – Four former Penn State Football standouts – NaVorro Bowman, Tamba Hali, Sean Lee and Allen Robinson – will be playing in the NFL Pro Bowl on Sunday from Aloha Stadium in Hawaii. The game will air live on ESPN at 8 p.m. as Team Irvin takes on Team Rice. Bowman, Lee and Robinson are on Team Irvin, while Bowman is on Team Rice.
Duo brings total to 77 Penn State players to participate in the Shrine Game
UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa.; Jan. 19, 2016 – Penn State senior tight end Kyle Carter (Bear, Del.) and senior defensive tackle Anthony Zettel (West Branch, Mich.) are slated to play in the 91st East-West Shrine Game on Saturday, Jan. 23 at Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg, Florida. The game will kickoff at 4 p.m., and air on the NFL Network.
Former Illinois co-defensive coordinator brings 20 years of coaching experience to the Nittany Lions
UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa.; Jan. 18, 2016 – Penn State head coach James Franklin announced coaching veteran Tim Banks as the Nittany Lions’ co-defensive coordinator and safeties coach. Banks has 20 years of coaching experience, including nine as a defensive coordinator. He most recently spent four seasons at Illinois as the co-defensive coordinator and secondary coach.
Rookie running back claims fourth freshman All-America honor
UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa.; Jan. 11, 2015 – Freshman running back Saquon Barkley (Coplay, Pa.) picked up another Freshman All-American honor with a selection to the Football Writers Association of American (FWAA) team Wednesday. He was also selected as a freshman first team honoree by USA Today and Sporting News, while finding a spot on ESPN.com’s True Freshman All-America team.
