GIANTS OFFENSE HOPES TO KEEP ALL ITS ASSETS ON THE FIELD IN 2015

Al Thompson

There will be a lot of new faces on the Giants offense on opening day. The thing is, many of those faces were Giants at the start of last season but for whatever reason, mostly injuries, were unable to get on the field.
Big Blue had over 20 players on injured reserve last year so it’s no surprise the Giants struggled to a 7-9 record.

TEMPLE’S HARPER GETTING A CHANCE WITH THE GIANTS

Al Thompson

Ken Harper has been given an opportunity for that kind of role at the NFL level by the New York Giants.
Harper had to get through a tryout he was invited to as part of Big Blue’s Rookie Camp. The 6-foot, 225
pounder did not have a contract, just an opportunity, which he seized. Harper was impressive enough to get a free agent contract and a long look through the summer to see if he can land a spot with the Giants.

GIANTS PUNTER WALKS AWAY FROM SERIOUS ONE-CAR CRASH

Michael Eisen

On Saturday, Weatherford’s wife Laura gave birth to the couple’s fourth child and third daughter, Josie Jaclyn, in Southern California. Early this morning, the Giants’ punter was in a one-car crash on the New Jersey Turnpike that left him, “very fortunate to be alive.”

EAGLES PICK MAKES SENSE, NOT NOISE

Al Thompson

Last week the Eagles took USC wide receiver Nelson Agholor with the No. 20 pick in the 2015 NFL draft.
It was a solid pick. Agholor’s body of work at Southern Cal was outstanding, finishing his career with 179 catches for 2,571 yards and 20 touchdowns in 30 games, becoming just the 12th Trojan to notch 2,000 receiving yards in a career.

AGHOLOR IS A GOOD START FOR KELLY’S NEW CREW

Brian Baldinger

Nelson Agholor is a nice start. On a perfect spring night in the Windy City Mr. Agholor’s name was called in the first round, the fourth wide receiver drafted on the special night. Eventually two more wide receivers’ name would be called in the first round, making it a total of six new shiny toys for their respective teams to highlight and amalgamate into their scheme.

BIG BLUE’S BRETT JONES TAKING NFL RIDE IN STRIDE

Al Thompson

It’s tough enough to come from the rustic community of Weyburn, Saskatchewan (pop. 10,484), Canada and start the final chapter of your football career, an opportunity to play in the NFL.
But to make that start in the biggest stage in America, the New York City area, it must be overwhelming, right?
Apparently not for Giants free agent center Brett Jones.

SPOTLIGHT ON TRAINING: TRAIN LIKE TIM!

admin

By Brian Lange
If you haven’t heard by now, Tim Tebow is an Eagle.
I am sure that we all have our opinions on him and his playing ability, but sounds like Coach Kelly felt he is a good addition to the team at this point. I would agree.

GIANTS DRAFT TO NEED, SOLIDIFY DEFENSE, O-LINE

Michael Eisen

The Giants entered the NFL Draft owning eight picks and with several positions to fortify and left it with six young players and a strong belief they had improved their team.
The three-day draft ended today with the Giants selecting three players: safety Mykkele Thompson, wide receiver Geremy Davis and offensive lineman Bobby Hart. They joined the previous three choices: tackle Ereck Flowers, safety Landon Collins and defensive end Owamagbe Odighizuwa. Collins was selected with the first pick in the second round after the Giants surrendered two of their choices – one each in the fourth and seventh rounds – in a trade with the Tennessee Titans.
