KENDRICKS, EAGLES LOOKING FOR SPECIAL SEASON THAT STARTS WITH FALCONS ON MNF

Al Thompson

Every player on the Philadelphia Eagles roster, from players on the edge of making the team such as offensive lineman Dennis Kelly, or standout players including running back DeMarco Murray and linebacker Mychal Kendricks, the common theme they all have is they want to be an Eagle, especially this year.
The idea of a pro athlete playing on the team that was the highest bidder for their services, does not appear to how this group of Birds was put together.
Eagles take on the Atlanta Falcons Monday night, ESPN Monday 7:10 PM ET.

HARPER FEELING GOOD ABOUT HIS CHANCES WITH BIG BLUE

Al Thompson

It is a good bet that it was not lost to the New York Football Giants scouting department that Kenneth Harper was awarded one of the prestigious single-digit jerseys given to the toughest guys on the Temple football team his senior season.
The 5-foot-10, 233 pounder played in every game for Temple since 2011.
One major criticism of the Giants in 2014 was its lack of toughness and Harper certainly brought that up Interstate 95 this spring.

Al Thompson

Preseason in the NFL is not unlike the stock exchange.
For a myriad of reasons a company’s stock can rise or fall depending on how the company performs or from circumstances that just happen.
For many of the Eagles, Sunday’s preseason opener say their stock rise, some saw it fall.
Here is a look at a few players whose performance stood out in one way for the other during the Birds 36-10 win over the Indianapolis Colts at the Linc.

GIANTS FALL SHORT IN PRESEASON OPENER TO BENGALS, OFFENSE SPUTTERS

Michael Eisen

Tom Coughlin thought the Giants acquitted themselves well in their two joint practices against the Cincinnati Bengals this week. But Friday night’s preseason opener against the same team? Not so much.
The Giants fell into an early hole, their offense never got untracked, and the Giants dropped a 23-10 decision to the Bengals in Paul Brown Stadium. The teams had practiced together on the fields across the street from the stadium on Tuesday and Wednesday.

ONE GUESS: BARBRE AND MOFFITT ARE OPENING DAY STARTERS AT GUARD

Al Thompson

Head coach Chip Kelly and his staff, like any NFL coaching unit, is never going to show their personnel moves hand to anyone much less the media or fans.
They are just as unlikely to disclose their intentions for bringing in a particular player.
So all we can do to have fun is guess.
