EAGLES NEWS AND NOTES: BRADFORD IMPROVES AGAIN

* The Eagles defense forced four Saints turnovers, including three fumbles and an interception. Those four takeaways led to 19 points … The Eagles have forced at least one turnover in 11 straight games for a total of 26 during that span … LB Jordan Hicks recovered a fumble for the third-consecutive game. Since entering the lineup in Week 2, Hicks has a sack, an interception, a forced fumble and three fumble recoveries. The last Eagles rookie with three fumble recoveries in a season was Michael Lewis in 2002. Hicks also became the fifth Eagles rookie linebacker with at least three fumble recoveries in a season and the first since Ray Farmer in 1996 … DB Walter Thurmond has three interceptions in five games this season after recording just one in his previous 36 games over five seasons.

Following today’s 1 pm games, Thurmond leads all safeties in interceptions and is tied for second in the NFL behind only Carolina’s Josh Norman, who has four picks … LB DeMeco Ryans forced a fumble that was recovered by CB Byron Maxwell.
 
* Sam’s Club … QB Sam Bradford threw for 333 yards and two touchdowns, marking the fourth-highest yardage total of his career, his ninth 300-yard game and his second as an Eagle … His 32 completions tied for the third-highest total of his career … Bradford completed 13-of-15 passes (including eight-consecutive completions to start the half) for 188 yards and one touchdown in the second half against the Saints. In the second half of games this season, Bradford has completed 66-of-94 passes (70.2%) for 753 yards and six touchdowns for a QB rating of 102.0 … Bradford has 603 yards and five touchdowns over the last two games and has three touchdowns of 39-plus yards during that span after connecting with WR Josh Huff on a 41 yarder … Bradford completed passes to nine different receivers against the Saints and for the season, he has thrown a touchdown pass to seven different receivers, which has already exceeded last year’s total of six.
 
* The Eagles punted just one time and scored on each of their final seven possessions, including all six in the second half en route to 39 points and 519 total net yards … The Eagles have punted less than twice just 16 times in team history, the last time coming on 9/20/04 vs. Minnesota … Their 34 first downs tied for the highest total in team history since the stat began being tracked in 1954. They also had 34 first downs on 11/15/81 vs. Baltimore Colts … RB DeMarco Murray accumulated 120 total yards from scrimmage and scored his second rushing touchdown of the season …  WR Josh Huff set career highs with four receptions and 78 yards and added his first-career touchdown. He also had a 40-yard kickoff return to open the game … RB Ryan Mathews scored his third touchdown of the season and has reached the end zone in three of five games this year … The Eagles offense had two one-play scoring drives against the Saints, marking just the third time since 1994 that the Eagles have had multiple one-play scoring drives in the same game. The other two times were 9/23/07 vs. Detroit and 12/19/99 vs. New England.
 
* The Eagles sacked Drew Brees five times, including a career-high three by DE Fletcher Cox, who also forced two fumbles to become the first Eagles player with three sacks and two forced fumbles in the same game since sacks became an official stat in 1982. Cox has four sacks this year and 16.5 in his career … Brees has been sacked five or more times on just seven occasions in his 15-year career … DT Bennie Logan recorded his third-career sack and his first of the season … LB Bryan Braman picked up the first full sack of his career.
 
* Birdseed … The Eagles improved their all-time home record against New Orleans to 9-4. The last time the Eagles defeated the Saints was in 2007 … The Eagles have not allowed an individual 100-yard rusher in the last 17 games and just one in their last 28 (Frank Gore on 9/28/14 at SF).
Philadelphia and Atlanta hold the longest active streaks in the NFL … TE Brent Celek played in his 132nd career game, tying Pete Retzlaff for third on the Eagles all-time list among receivers and tight ends.
He trails only Harold Carmichael (180) and Bobby Walston (148). Celek also caught a touchdown for the second-straight week … In just his second appearance with the team, K Caleb Sturgis connected on all four field goal attempts. He became the 12th Eagles kicker to have four field goals in a game, but just the second to do so by his second game with the team.

Paul McFadden also made four field goals in his second game with the team in 1984 … After winning against his former team, the Saints, RB Darren Sproles has a victory over 29 of the 32 teams (Green Bay, Seattle, Pittsburgh).
