Coach Franklin celebrates with QB Christian Hackenberg after the 2014 New Era Pinstripe Bowl

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa.; April 23, 2015 – Penn State head football coach James Franklin will be throwing out the first pitch at Yankee Stadium on Tuesday, April 28 as the Yankees face the Tampa Bay Rays at 7:05 p.m. Franklin will represent Penn State as the Yankees celebrate the 2014 New Era Pinstripe Bowl Champions.

“It’s such an awesome opportunity to throw out the first pitch and take in a Yankees game at such an iconic stadium,” Franklin said. “The Yankees’ staff was great to work with and hosted a first-class event in the Pinstripe Bowl. The experience our student-athletes, coaches and staff had at Yankee Stadium in December was second to none. I am looking forward to taking the mound, maybe I will try to get some pitching advice from Masahiro Tanaka or Michael Pineda.”

As part of Franklin’s appearance, the Yankees are offering a special Penn State ticket deal. Fans can purchase tickets for up to 50 percent off using the promo code PSU15 with Field Level seats starting at $40 and Main Level seats starting at $27.50. Fans can access the promotion by visiting www.yankees.com/psu15.
