* Darren Sproles became the second Eagles running back to have a punt return touchdown of over 80 yards against the 49ers in a span of 12 seasons. Brian Westbrook ran a punt back 81 yards against San Francisco in week 16 of 2003. Similarly, Sproles’ 152 receiving yards at Indianapolis surpassed Westbrook’s career high of 140 against the Raiders in 2005.

* Zach Ertz’s first four receptions of the 2014 season were all of at least 25 yards but of no more than 27 yards.

* In a bizarre first half against Jacksonville the Eagles’ defense allowed Allen Hurns to become the first undrafted rookie wide receiver in league history to score on each of his first two career catches. Hurns’ third reception gained 46 yards to move the Jaguars beyond their own one-yard-line.

* Shady McCoy’s 1.2 yards per carry against the Redskins constituted his lowest single game rushing average since he gained two yards on six carries at Atlanta as a rookie in 2009.

* Cody Parkey not only kicked a game-winner and two FGs of over 50 yards thru his first three career games, he achieved a touchback on two-thirds of his kickoffs in that span.

* Of the 73 times since 1940 that an NFL team recorded three or more return TDs in a game the * Eagles recently became only the second such team to lose.
Chris Polk scored his fourth TD on only his first 16 career touches with his 102-yard kick return TD against Washington.

* The Eagles scored two special teams touchdowns: a blocked punt by rookie TE Trey Burton that was recovered by WR Brad Smith in the end zone and an 82-yard punt return touchdown by RB Darren Sproles … It was the first time the Eagles scored twice on special teams since 11/22/92 at NYG and the first time they scored in back-to-back games since 9/24/00 and 10/1/00 … Smith’s blocked punt recovery touchdown was the eighth in Eagles history and the first since Ken Rose’s 3-yard return on 11/22/92 at NYG.

* Darren Sproles’ 82-yard punt return was the longest of his career and the fifth-longest in Eagles history … Sproles has 200 punt return yards through four games this season, which is the second-most ever by an Eagle through four games, trailing only Larry Marshall’s 217 in 1977 … Sproles has four career punt return touchdowns and two career kickoff return touchdowns, tying him for fifth among active players with six total.

* Safety Malcolm Jenkins returned an interception 53 yards for his third career touchdown and the first by an Eagles safety since Michael Lewis on 12/10/06 at Washington … Jenkins has an interception in three straight games, becoming the first Eagles safety to do so since Brian Dawkins in 2004 and the first Eagle overall since Asante Samuel in 2010 … Jenkins has a career-high three interceptions this year.

* The Eagles have forced a takeaway in 17 straight contests (including playoffs), their first time doing so since a streak of 37 games from 1993-95 … The Eagles tallied four sacks of Colin Kaepernick, including one by LB Connor Barwin (25th career, sixth as an Eagle), one by DE Vinny Curry and one by LB Brandon Graham. LBs Casey Matthews and Trent Cole each had a half sack.

* WR Jeremy Maclin led the team with 68 receiving yards and has 3,817 in his career, moving him past Brian Westbrook and into 12th on the team’s all-time list. In the last 11 games that Maclin and Foles have played together, they have combined for 58 receptions, 843 yards and six touchdowns … Trent Cole played in his 144th game, tying Jon Runyan for 12th on the team’s all-time list … T Matt Tobin and C David Molk each made their first career start.
