Temple coach Matt Rhule finally got his first win over D-1 opponent

Temple used a 28-point second quarter en route to a dominating 48-20 win over the Charlotte 49ers in the homecoming game for Owls at Lincoln Financial Field on Saturday afternoon. Quarterback Phillip Walker threw for two touchdowns and running backs Jahad Thomas and Ryquell Armstead each ran for a pair of scores as the Owls improved to 2-2. Kalif Phillips had a 66-yard touchdown run as part of a 114 yard day on the ground for the 49ers, who fell to 1-3.
