Temple Game will air live on ESPN and the Penn State Sports Network from Lincoln Financial Field

The game time for the Penn State football season opener against Temple at Lincoln Financial Field on Saturday, Sept. 5 is slated for 3:30 p.m. The game will air live on ESPN.
This is the fifth time announced for Penn State’s 2015 schedule. The Nittany Lions open their home slate against Buffalo at noon on a game that will air on ESPN2 or ESPNU. The following week, Penn State will host Rutgers in primetime on the Big Ten Network on Saturday, Sept. 19 at 8 p.m. Additionally, Penn State’s Homecoming game against Indiana on Saturday, Oct. 10 is at noon, while the Nittany Lions’ game at Ohio State on Saturday, Oct. 17 will kick at 8 p.m. on ABC/ESPN/ESPN2.
This will be the ninth meeting in the last 10 years between Penn State and Temple. The Nittany Lions are 39-3-1 all-time against the Owls, including wins in the last 31 contests. Penn State is 12-3 in road games against Temple. The last time the Lions visited the City of Brotherly Love, they picked up a 14-10 win during the 2011 campaign.
Last season, Penn State used complementary football with stellar performances on both sides of the ball to post a 30-13 win over Temple to become bowl eligible for the first time since the 2011 season.
The Nittany Lions rushed for a season-high 254 yards, led by Akeel Lynch and Bill Belton, while the Penn State defense forced five turnovers. Lynchran for 130 yards and a touchdown on 18 carries, while Belton added 92 yards and a touchdown on 19 carries. Grant Haley led the defensive effort with an interception that he returned 30 yards for the touchdown.
Penn State will be playing at least one regular season night game for the 16th consecutive season. Every Penn State football game has been televised the past 10 seasons and 253 of the last 255 contests overall have been on TV.
