McCusker is the owner/operator of Cider Mill Landscapes and has more than 10 years experience in landscaping. He carefully oversees the details of each design and installation project the company handles. His goal is to provide each client of Cider Mill Landscapes with a uniquely designed landscape that is expertly installed and maintained.

Last year, McCusker took his craft to another level by adding outdoor lighting opportunities to his clients by opening Outdoor Lighting Perspectives.

McCusker talks about how bathing your home in the soft light can make your dream home even better.

“It creates an overall nighttime aesthetic,” McCusker said. “It adds an all new dimension to your house at night.”

Contrary to what one might think, McCusker’s lighting does not light up the electric bill.

“It’s not like a huge flood light on your home,” said McCusker, who graduated from Salesianum High School (DE), and West Chester University (PA). “It is a subtle light on your home that is also low voltage. It uses 20 percent of the electricity than a flood light.”

Vice President Eric Cummings, a Pennsylvania certified Horticulturist who also attended West Chester University, is head of design and sales for Cider Mill Landscapes.

McCusker has officially been in landscaping for 10 years but his passion for outdoors and homes started at an early age.

“I’ve been outside all my life,” McCusker recalled. “Whether it was landscaping or some kind of construction, I’ve been doing it my whole life.”

McCusker said his transition to making home improvement his life’s business came naturally, as did the lighting.

“I had been doing landscape installs for years,” McCusker said. “It was a service that kind of went right along with what I had already done. It kind of took off from there.”
