Agree to Terms on One-Year Contract

The Philadelphia Eagles have agreed to terms on a one-year contract with WR Alshon Jeffery.

Originally selected by the Chicago Bears in the second round (45th overall) of the 2012 NFL Draft, Jeffery (6-3, 218) has played in 63 career games over five NFL seasons, totaling 304 receptions for 4,549 yards (15.0 avg.) and 26 touchdowns.

The 27-year-old wideout has produced four consecutive seasons with at least 50 receptions and 800 receiving yards, including back-to-back 1,000-yard campaigns in 2013 and 2014. Since earning his first career Pro Bowl honors in 2013 – when he posted 89 receptions for 1,421 yards (16.0 avg.) and seven touchdowns – Jeffery ranks ninth in the NFL with 4,182 receiving yards.

From 2013-14, Jeffery placed fourth among NFL wide receivers in 25-plus-yard receptions (27), fifth in receiving yards (2,554), sixth in receiving first downs (122), tied for seventh in receiving touchdowns (17) and eighth in receptions (174).

A native of St. Matthews, SC, Jeffery played in 39 contests at the University of South Carolina (2009-11), where he finished his collegiate career ranked first in school history in receiving yards (3,042), tied for first in receiving touchdowns (23) and second in receptions (183). As a sophomore in 2010, Jeffery was named a Biletnikoff Award finalist, All-American and unanimous first-team All-Southeastern Conference selection.
