The Philadelphia Eagles got their man.

The Birds announced today they have agreed to terms on a two-year contract with QB Sam Bradford.

The total value of the deal is $36 million, $26 million guaranteed. Reports say playoff bonuses could push the contract to $40 million.

The deal gives Bradford near elite money per year, while the Eagles must feel safe with just two seasons committed to a quarterback who has had significant injuries prior to coming to Philadelphia.

It appears both parties came away winners.

Bradford, 28, was originally acquired by the Eagles in a 2015 offseason trade with the St. Louis Rams. In his first season in Philadelphia, Bradford started 14 games and completed 346-of-532 attempts for a career-high 3,725 yards, the fourth-highest yardage total in franchise history. Bradford’s 346 completions and his career-high 65.03 completion percentage both marked new Eagles single-season records.

With Bradford guiding the offense in 2015, multiple Eagles pass catchers set career highs, including TE Zach Ertz and WR Jordan Matthews. Ertz logged career highs in both receptions (75) and receiving yards (853), including 450 receiving yards in the final four games of the season, a total that made him just the second tight end in the NFL since 2013 to record at least 450 receiving yards over a four-game span. Matthews led the team in both receptions (85) and receiving yards (997), both of which marked career highs for the second-year wideout.

The former No. 1 overall selection of the Rams in the 2010 NFL Draft, Bradford was named the 2010 NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year by The Associated Press after he notched an NFL rookie-record 354 completions while recording the second-most passing yards by a rookie in NFL history at the time (3,512).

A three-year starter at Oklahoma, Bradford finished his Sooners career with 8,403 passing yards and 88 touchdowns. In 2008, he became just the second underclassman to win the Heisman Trophy after he led the country in touchdown passes (50) and passing efficiency (180.84). In addition to winning the Heisman, Bradford was named the Big 12 Offensive Player of the Year in 2008 and also won the Davey O’Brien Award, the Sammy Baugh Trophy and the Chic Harley Award that season.
