The Philadelphia Eagles have agreed to terms on a one-year contract with RB LeGarrette Blount.

Blount has appeared in 100 regular-season games (43 starts) over his seven-year career with New England, Pittsburgh, and Tampa Bay, and has amassed 5,122 yards and 49 touchdowns on the ground. As a member of the Patriots in 2016, Blount set career highs with 1,161 rushing yards and a league-leading 18 touchdowns, which ranks as the 15th-highest total in NFL history and the most since Adrian Peterson’s 18 in 2009.

The 30-year-old Blount has won two Super Bowls with New England (2014, 2016) and has totaled 470 rushing yards and eight touchdowns in eight career playoff games. In his first career postseason appearance, Blount carried 24 times for 166 yards (6.9 avg.) and four touchdowns vs. Indianapolis (1/11/14). His four rushing touchdowns marked the second-most in single-game postseason history. The following year, Blount turned in another impressive playoff performance against the Colts (1/18/15), as he rushed 30 times for 148 yards (4.9 avg.) and three touchdowns.

“LeGarrette Blount is a tough, physical runner who has enjoyed a great deal of success in New England and we are excited about adding him to this football team,” said Howie Roseman, Eagles executive vice president of football operations. “We feel good about the depth and competition that we have created at the running back position and we are looking forward to getting the guys out on the field next week for OTAs.”

Blount played collegiately at Oregon and was originally signed by the Tennessee Titans as an undrafted free agent in 2010. Prior to the start of the regular season, Blount was claimed off waivers by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and went on to lead all rookies with 1,007 rushing yards, becoming just the second undrafted rookie ever to eclipse the 1,000-yard rushing mark.

In 2013, he was traded to New England and rushed for 772 yards and seven touchdowns in his first season with the Patriots. In 2014, he re-signed with New England after spending the first 11 games of the season as a member of the Pittsburgh Steelers. In his final 33 regular-season games with the Patriots, Blount rushed for 2,145 yards and 27 touchdowns.
