“It’s an exciting day around the NFL when the schedule is released,” said Eagles president Joe Banner. “The fact that we have so many early games at home gives us a chance to get off to a fast start and gain some momentum. All of the prime-time games continue to be a statement about both the popularity and the optimism about the Eagles and the incredible excitement within the NFC East. We have a stretch of three straight NFC East games once again at a very crucial time and we finish in Dallas, which could be very, very dramatic. There should be a lot of great battles in the division and if you are a football fan, no matter who you root for, that is really exciting stuff.”

The Eagles open up their 2009 campaign at Carolina followed by three straight home games vs. New Orleans, Kansas City and Tampa Bay. The Eagles make their first visit to Oakland since 1995 on October 18 and their first visit to San Diego since 1998 on November 15. Meanwhile, Denver makes their first visit to Philadelphia since 1995 on December 27 and Kansas City makes their first trip to the City of Brotherly Love since 1998 on September 27.

The middle of the Eagles schedule features a stretch of three straight nationally televised contests against NFC East foes (at Washington, vs. NY Giants, and vs. Dallas). The Eagles conclude their regular season schedule against the Cowboys for the second straight year, this time at the Cowboys new stadium in Arlington, Texas on January 3, 2010.
