The Philadelphia Eagles today announced they have signed CB Jack Ikegwuonu from the practice squad to their 53-man roster and signed CB Stoney Woodson to the practice squad.
Ikegwuonu (5-10, 200) was drafted by the Eagles in the fourth round in 2008, but missed the entire season with a knee injury he suffered preparing for the NFL combine.
He has spent the entire 2009 season on the practice squad.
A three-year letterman at Wisconsin, Ikegwuonu decided to enter the NFL draft following his junior season after earning his second consecutive first-team All-Big Ten selection. In 39 career games at Wisconsin (30 starts), Ikegwuonu finished with 91 tackles, 29 pass deflections, and six interceptions.
Woodson, 24, was originally drafted by the New York Giants in the seventh round in 2009 and saw action in two preseason games before being released on 9/6/09. In those two games, he totaled five tackles and one interception. He is in his second stint with the Eagles practice squad this season, after originally joining the team on 10/13/09 and being released on 10/22/09.
A native of Tampa, FL, Woodson (5-10, 198) played collegiately at South Carolina, where he amassed 109 tackles and seven interceptions during his four-year career.
