FOOTBALLSTORIES AREA COLLEGE ALL STARS

WR – Justin Watson, Penn – University of Pennsylvania – Football at Lehigh at Goodman Stadium

Standout Penn wide receiver Justin Watson is the FootballStories Magazine College Player of the Year for the Philadelphia region. Also, he joins an impressive list of players from the regions 15 schools that compete on the gridiron on FootballStories College Football All-Star Team.

The senior from Bridgeville, PA rewrote the record book at Penn and played in both the East-West Shrine Game and the Reese’s Senior Bowl.

“I am thankful for the opportunity to represent Penn one more time,” said Watson prior to the Shrine game. “My coaches and teammates have all helped me become the player I am and have helped put me in the position to play at the next level. I look forward to this challenge and taking the next step in my football career.”

He’s Penn’s career record holder in receptions (286), receiving yards (3,777), receiving touchdowns (33) and all-purpose yards (4,116)

Additionally, he’s the first player in Ivy League history to catch a pass in all 40 career games, catch a touchdown in 10 consecutive games and record three career 1,000-yard seasons.
Quakers head coach Ray Priore says it’s Watson’s desire to be a champion in everything that he does that makes him special.

“It’s not just physical,” he said, “there are plenty of kids out there who have physical skills and talent. It’s that inner drive, focus and determination to do it. There’s not many of those kids that come around.”
