EAGLES 2-0 START IS HISTORICAL FOR PEDERSON, WENTZ

Eagles at Bears on MNF

• Doug Pederson became the first Eagles head coach in the Super Bowl Era to win his first two games with the team. The last Philadelphia head coach to accomplish the feat was Nick Skorich in 1961.

• The Eagles have won each of their last two Monday Night Football contests by a combined score of 56-21 (27-7 win vs. NYG on 10/19/15)

• Overall, the Eagles have won five of their last six games on Monday Night Football. Since 2001, Philadelphia has gone 19-11 (.633) on MNF — the most wins and games played (30) by any NFL team over that span.

• The Eagles have won three consecutive road games, their longest streak since winning four straight games in 2013

• The Eagles have won seven of their last 11 regular-season games against the Bears. Tonight’s win marked Philadelphia’s first victory at Soldier Field since 11/22/09 (W, 24-20). The Eagles have won four of its last six contests at the venue
Carson Wentz Wins on the Road

• Carson Wentz joined Mark Sanchez (2009, NYJ), Joe Flacco (2008, Bal.), Ryan Leaf (1998, SD) and John Elway (1983, Den.) as the only rookie QBs to win the first two games of the season since the 1970 NFL merger. According to ESPN Stats & Info, he is the only one to do so with no team turnovers.

• Wentz also became the first NFL rookie QB to win his first Monday Night Football start since TB’s Mike Glennon on 11/11/13 vs. Mia. (W, 22-19). He is just the second NFL rookie QB since 1988 to win a MNF game on the road (NYJ’s Geno Smith on 10/7/13 at Atl). Prior to tonight, rookie QBs had a 1-15 record in such games.

Strong Defensive Performance

• The Eagles forced three turnovers, including Nigel Bradham’s second-career interception, which led to an Eagles touchdown.

• Rookie DT Destiny Vaeao recorded his first-career tackle, sack, and forced fumble all on the same play. The fumble was recovered by Jordan Hicks, who now has six takeaways (4 FRs, 2 INTs) in 10 career games.

• Bennie Logan also had a FF (2nd of his career) that was picked up by Ron Brooks.

• Malcolm Jenkins registered his first sack as an Eagle and now has 5.5 in his career. Brandon Graham also had a sack, his second in as many games.

• The Eagles are allowing just 286 yards per game this season, which is the fourth-lowest total in the NFL. They rank second in points allowed with just 24.

Offensive Highlights

• The Eagles have put points on the board on the opening drive of both games this season. Wentz is 12-14 (85.7%) for 102 yards and one TD on those drives. According to ESPN Stats and Info, his eight completions on the opening drive tonight were the most by any player this season.

• Ryan Mathews scored two touchdowns and has reached the end zone in three of the last four contests. It was his fourth-career multi-touchdown game.

• Trey Burton scored his first-career touchdown and had career highs with five catches and 49 yards

• Jordan Matthews had six receptions for 71 yards, upping his total over the last five games to 35 catches for 431 yards and five touchdowns.
Other Interesting Notes

• Caleb Sturgis’ 53-yard field goal tied for the fifth-longest in team history and the second-longest of his career. He joins David Akers as the only two Eagles kickers with multiple 53-yarders. Sturgis was 3/3 on FG atts, his 12th game with three FGs

• The Eagles lead the NFL in point differential in 2016, outscoring opponents 58-24

• Ball control was a strength again for the Eagles as they were turnover free for the second consecutive game and held the ball for 36:05. They currently lead the league in average time of possession (37:43) and are one of just three teams without a giveaway

• The Eagles are 4/4 on fourth down this season including 3/3 against Chicago
