By Gabrielle Lacherza

PHILADELPHIA (June 3, 2015) – Less than a half mile from the Philadelphia Soul’s front offices is where the coaches and team get their work done. This is the sixth season Nexxt Level Sports (333 Preston Ave, Voorhees, NJ) has been the Soul’s practice facility. The team started using this South Jersey sports facility during the 2008 season and have been there ever since returning to the league in 2011. The Nexxt Level complex was renovated in the beginning of the year, only adding more to everything it already has to offer.

“I’ve been in the league 14 years and there is no better set up than this,” general manager Tom Goodhines said. “We have a phenomenal relationship with the staff at Nexxt Level and it is no doubt a part of our success this season.”

Nexxt Level houses the Soul coach’s offices, locker room, equipment room, training room, and the Soul use their turf field for practice. All of these amenities were completely renovated before the season began. Aside from the Soul getting a new look, the building as a whole got a makeover itself. There is now a full menu fitness café in the lobby and a relatively new yoga studio that even offers hot yoga. The next step in the renovation process is opening up the new Olympic size swimming pool.

“The Soul adds to our family vibe here at Nexxt Level,” said Ceharah Welington who is the controller, marketing coordinator, and girls basketball coach. “It brings people in and is great for the younger kids to be able to see professional athletes train.”

Aside from the Soul using this facility, many local division 1 athletes have trained here as well as individual professional athletes such as Maalik Wayns, Donovan McNabb, Michael Kidd-Gilchrist, and Marques Colston. SJAC Swimming will start using the pool as a practice location. Aerobic classes, multiple sports camps, and a gym membership are some of the main things offered by Nexxt Level Sports. The Soul are proud to call this facility their home and use it as a place to take their game to the next level.
